The lightshaft as seen from the platform View from the staircase to the mezzanine

The station, one of the most beautiful in the network, is axed around a huge light shaft, surrounded in metal tiles and glass bricks, that pours light all the way down to the mezzanine and the platforms and permits points of view down from the staircases.

The station's classic and formal architecture starts at the platform level and is linked upwards to the kiosk through the continuity of decorative materials: the warm clay tiles on the wall, pink granite floors, and grey granite trim and benches.

The Saint-Michel platform

Artwork and trimmings in this station call to mind the architectural distinctiveness of the surrounding neighbourhood. A handsome, authentic City of Outremont light standard stands at the foot of the stairs leading up to the mezzanine from the Saint-Michel platform. And on the wall facing the turnstiles, a mural by Gilbert Poissant in vitrified sandstone depicts the forms of local doorways.

The light shaft is illuminated through a glass-roofed rotunda in the station's large single entrance pavilion.
