The Inversion of the World, floor mosaic The Inversion of the World, detail of the globe

The Inversion of the World, detailThis intriguing work, the first collaboration of Les industries perdues, is situated in a rotunda. The floor mosaic pictures a map of the world in which the oceans have become continents and vice versa, complete with names such as Atlantica, Pacifica, and Île Méditéranée. The floor mosaic is "superimposed" onto the hanging globe by its lower half, a mirrored hemisphere.
